Currently, head of the marine geology project at the Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute - Perú (INGEMMET). The INGEMMET as the governing body of Geosciences, cooperates with the geological knowledge of the Peruvian coast and the seabed for strategic, geopolitical, marine planning purposes, identification of marine resources and governance for regional and local according to national policies. His research focuses on evaluating the geological processes that occurred in the Peruvian continental margin, through geological mapping of the seafloor at different scales, structural geology and seafloor geomorphology mapping.Anthony Quilca, is a geologist engineer from San Antonio Abad National University of Cusco (UNSAAC), he performed a master’s studies in Tectonic and regional geology from National University of San Marcos (UNMSM). His background begins in hydrocarbon exploration industry, environmental geology, regional geology and currently developing marine geology and Antarctic geology issues. It is the first time that Anthony will participate in a cruise and he is very excited about the process, since from the geological point of view, the ridge of Nazca has an important influence in the origins and tectonic stages for the geological evolution of the South American continent.
