Dmitry Brazhnikov

Dmitry is a Ph.D. student in physical oceanography at School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). Before joining UAF, he received M.Sc. in "Applied Physics and Mathematics" from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and worked as a research assistant with specialization in ice engineering. However, Dmitry's interest was always in the field of geophysical fluid dynamics. Currently, his research concerns interaction of oceanic gravity waves with sea bottom topography that causes redistribution of wave energy. As a part of T-Tide/T-Beam project Dmitry would like to quantify these processes. His scientific interests also comprise tsunami wave propagation using numerical modes.Dmitry is thrilled about this expedition, collecting data that will help to clarify his ideas.
