Gabriela is a Brazilian Oceanographer with a Masters degree in Physical, Chemical and Geological Oceanography granted by the Federal University of Rio Grande, Brazil (2013). She is currently a PhD Candidate at the CSIRO-UTAS PhD Program in Quantitative Marine Science and is based at CSIRO. Her main research interests are dynamical oceanography and mesoscale features. Gabriela is currently working with EAC eddies’ 3D structure using Ocean Forecasting Australia Model (OFAM3) output and observational data. During her PhD candidature she aims to investigate eddies’ evolution as they propagate and interact with other eddies, the mean flow, and the local bathymetry.
