Dr. Henrietta Dulai is an Associate Professor at the Department of Earth Sciences in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. Dulai is a geochemist who studies the chemical cycles and distribution of land-based solutes focusing on coastal hydrology, as well as shelf- and ocean basin scale transport processes. Dulai specializes on the application of U/Th series and man-made radionuclides as well as other chemical tracers. Her research projects focus on the development of novel measurement methods and instrumentation and their application to study land-based runoff and ocean transport as well as associated dispersion and cycling of nutrients, trace metals, and anthropogenic contaminants.
Dulai received an M.S. in Engineering in Nuclear Chemistry at the School of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at the Czech Technical University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography at the Department of Oceanography at the Florida State University. She then continued on to a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She has been a faculty at the Department of Earth Sciences in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa since 2009.
