I am a PhD candidate from the University of Cape Town, specialising in ocean biogrochemistry, with a focus on the complex dynamics of marine dissolved oxygen. My work is driven by a deep curiosity about the ocean's role in regulating the global climate system.
My primary research interest lies in understanding the interplay between chemical processes, microbial communities, and large-scale circulation that govern the distribution of essential nutrients and oxygen. These questions are vital for predicting how ocean deoxygenation will impact marine ecosystems and the global carbon cycle.
I believe that collaborative engagement is critical to producing impactful science. I am excited to contribute my expertise and actively learn from the diverse skills and perspectives of my fellow researches, applying these direct experiences to deepen our collective understanding of the marine oxygen distribution.
