Rayan Sadeldin

Analyst

Rayan Sadeldin is an Analyst at Schmidt Ocean Institute, where she works in the Data Division on post-expedition reports, data organization, and other data-related projects. She also serves as a Senior Science Analyst with Schmidt Sciences.

Before joining the team, Rayan was a Research Assistant at the Guttmacher Institute, where she contributed significantly to major domestic national censuses and analyzed data to assess the impact of policies on international sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service provision. She also played a key role in the Institute’s reproducibility initiative, leveraging her strong quantitative skills.

Rayan graduated from St. Olaf College with majors in Economics and Biology, along with a concentration in statistics and data science. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Statistical Analyst Fellow at St. Olaf College’s Center for Interdisciplinary Research, processing and analyzing large Medicare claims datasets using R. Additionally, she interned as a Biostatistics Researcher with the Chronic Disease Research Group in Minneapolis, where she conducted literature reviews and analyzed national transplant registry data to evaluate U.S. veterans’ access to organ transplant services.
