Whitney Ko

Whitney Ko is an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii studying to receive a B.S. in global environmental science. She spent the past summer in the Peruvian Amazon Forest, interning for Associación Fauna Forever, studying and contributing to the long-term wildlife monitoring project of Caimans. Her interests are mainly biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration. Currently, Whitney is starting her undergraduate senior thesis project working in Dr. Jeffrey Drazen’s Deep-sea Fish Ecology lab. Her research will focus on studying the pelagic food web. The Falkor cruise will be Whitney’s first time on a research cruise. She is excited to expand her involvement in different research projects
