Alessandro Messora is a Marine Biology MSc student at the University of Groningen, with a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan Bicocca. Despite growing up in a landlocked region of Italy at the feet of the Alps, his passion for the marine environment led him to work in different research centers throughout the country as a volunteer, and eventually study abroad. Thanks to his position as a staff member at Tethys Research Institute, which focuses on cetacean conservation in the Mediterranean Sea, he discovered his enthusiasm for data collection in the field and ship life. During free time, he enjoys scuba diving, photography and building with Lego.
