Dennisse Maldonado Castillo is a geologist engineer who graduated from the University of Guayaquil. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems through the UNIGIS program at the University of Salzburg. Since 2014, she has been working at the Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy, participating in various research projects. She began her journey with the MARGE project, where she conducted geological surveys and analyzed coastal variability in the provinces of Esmeraldas and Santa Elena. Later, she became part of the technical team for the SUTPLA and SUTPLA Phase II projects, which aim to extend the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles. These projects focus on the underwater mountain ranges of Carnegie, Cocos, and Colón, respectively.
