Co-Principal Investigator
Dr Eric Woehler has been undertaking research on seabirds for 40 years, primarily in the Southern Ocean and participating in summer expeditions to the Antarctic and Subantarctic. He has spent extensive periods on oceanographic vessels undertaking seabird and marine mammal surveys around Australia, the Antarctic Peninsula, and in the Arctic. Eric is currently the Lead PI for a multi-year seabird survey project on the CSIRO's RV Investigator. Eric is the convener of BirdLife Tasmania, and is an adjunct researcher with the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) at University of Tasmania in Hobart, where he supervises HDR students. Eric is affiliated with the Australasian Seabird Group, a Special Interest Group of BirdLife Australia, on the Pinging in the New Year expedition.
