Ian Hughes is a PhD student in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University. His research interests focus on the physiology and evolution of animal-microbe symbioses, with a particular emphasis on mollusks. Ian's research has taken him from the outback of Australia to the Californian tide pools, and now, the high seas.
