Javier Chazarreta is a marine biologist from Argentina who currently works as a technician at the Instituto de Biodiversidad y Biología Experimental Aplicada (IBBEA, CONICET-UBA). His main responsibilities include participating in oceanographic cruises, collecting biological samples, and identifying and classifying marine organisms in the laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional del Sur, where his doctoral research focused on the distribution and composition of zooplankton communities in a coastal marine environment in Argentina. He later completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Instituto Argentino de Oceanografía (IADO, CONICET-UNS), expanding his research on marine biodiversity and ecology. In addition, Dr. Chazarreta has participated in several scientific surveys aboard Argentine research vessels and in Antarctic expeditions, contributing to studies on the ecology and taxonomy of zooplankton. His work reflects a strong commitment to understanding marine ecosystems, and he actively collaborates with multidisciplinary teams involved in oceanographic and ecological research.
