Josh Tucker has been working as a fisheries observer with NOAA’s Pacific Islands Regional Office for the last two years. Over the last year he helped to deploy a series of hydrophones during fishing operations to record marine mammal vocalizations to help identify and understand their interactions with commercial fishing gear. During this cruise, Josh will be supervising a study examining the effect of multi-beam seafloor mapping sonar on marine mammal behavior.
