Lead Technician
Julianna Diehl has worked as a Marine Technician on research vessels since graduating from Maine Maritime Academy with a B.S. in Marine Science. During college, she had the opportunity to sail aboard R/V Falkor as one of their first Student Opportunities Participants. She returned to Falkor two other times, as a Deck Cadet and later as a Marine Technician intern, before graduating in 2017. She spent the next five years with the University of Hawaii aboard the Kilo Moana as a Marine Technician, working her way up to Lead Technician. In 2022, she joined Schmidt Ocean Institute in Vigo, Spain to help commission the R/V Falkor (too) and has supported scientists on their research cruises ever since.
