Kate Malloy is a third year student at James Cook University studying a bachelor of science majoring in marine biology. Kate has also studied at Hawaii pacific university in Oahu where she developed a special interest in physical oceanography, specifically sub surface current processes, which would be observed around the seamounts in the coral and Tasman sea.
