Luis Vega is a Ph.D. student in Earth Sciences at the Center for Scientific Investigation and Higher Education at Ensenada (CICESE). He has a Master Degree in Earth Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Geosciences. His Ph.D. research project aims for automatic detection of fault-scarps in high-resolution bathymetry data by machine-learning techniques. He enjoys learning about Computer Sciences (machine learning, computer vision, HPC, among others) and finds it relaxing to fix computers and perform amateur car mechanics.
