Pamela Barrett is a Research Scientist with the Cooperative Institute for Climate, Ocean, and Ecosystem Studies (CICOES) at the University of Washington and NOAA’s Pacific Marine Environmental Lab. She is a marine chemist whose research focuses on the role of particles in controlling the distribution of trace metals in the ocean. She received her PhD in chemical oceanography from the University of Washington and held postdoctoral appointments in the University of Washington College of Engineering and at the Australian National University Research School of Earth Sciences.
