Ricardo M Letelier is a Professor in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University. His research explores the response of marine pelagic microorganisms, populations, and communities to environmental perturbations and how this response affects marine biogeochemical cycles. His main areas of expertise are phytoplankton ecology and bio-optics. Letelier received his B.A. in Marine Biology from Universidad de Concepcion, Chile, his Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii, and joined Oregon State University in 1994.
