Marine Technician
Rich Jeong is a member of the Marine Technicians team. Marine technicians are the point of contact for scientists, helping them realize their scientific objectives. From maintaining and monitoring sensors to packaging up data for the scientists when they leave, Rich and his peers ensure everything happens smoothly and efficiently.
Rich grew up in Denver, Colorado, skiing, camping, and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. He has worked in information technology for nearly twenty years. This work took him from Denver to Washington DC and Eastern Africa. He spent seven years with the U.S. Antarctic Program supporting science, where he wintered over at McMurdo Station and spent time as staff on their ice-capable research vessels. When not on the ship, you will find him climbing mountains, diving reefs, and promoting education in Uganda.
