Salem Morsy is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Ocean Technology, Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Dr. Morsy obtained his PhD degree in Geomatics Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Canada. His current research focuses on seafloor mapping using advanced remote sensing technologies (e.g., laser scanning systems). He uses machine-learning algorithms to develop classification approaches for 3D high-resolution seafloor mapping and monitoring.
