Sarah Laperriere is a Ph.D. student in Oceanography as part of the Marine, Estuarine, and Environmental Science program at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Horn Point Laboratory. Her research focuses on nitrous oxide (N2O) dynamics in Chesapeake Bay and off the coast of Southern California at the San Pedro Ocean Time-series station. Sarah received her B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Mathematics from Providence College and previously worked at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA. In 2012-2013, she had the opportunity to work at Palmer Station in Antarctica, where she conducted microbial ecology and biogeochemistry field research as part of the Palmer Long-Term Ecological Research project.
