Alysha Johnson is a PhD candidate and Higher Research Degree student at the University of Wollongong studying under Prof. Colin Woodroffe. Her research is focused on understanding the evolution of volcanic islands by interpreting seamount geomorphology. Currently, her research is focused on reconstructing the geomorphic evolution of sites in the Pacific including, Norfolk Island and the Tasmantid Seamount Chain. Alysha has recently completed a BSc (Hons) at the University of Auckland in Geography and Earth Science. Her prior research focused on ultramafic igneous geochemistry of ophiolites. Before her PhD, Alysha took up a research and teaching role in the University of Auckland assisting in recreating historic New Zealand shorelines to calculate nationwide shoreline change.
