Odalisca Breedy Shadid (she/her/ella)Title and Institution: Professor of Biology, Center for Research of Marine Sciences and Limnology (CIMAR), Universidad de Costa RicaOdalisca Breedy is a biology professor at the Center for Research of Marine Sciences and Limnology (CIMAR) at the Universidad de Costa Rica in San José, Costa Rica. Her research specializes in the taxonomy, systematics and biogeography of octocorals. She primarily studies mesophotic coral ecosystems and is excited to engage in the exploration of deep-sea corals. She has been a professor of biology since 2013 and is director of the Museum of Zoology at UCR.
